There are lots of potential hurdles for teenagers in work, many of them legislative, parents and guardians want to be careful about that. There is lots of help from the website in the box below on this subject, they also have help for all peeps who are hunting for work, or who want to change careers.

What about going to an underserved area. They will advance you faster and the pay will be higher. Depending on what you do, look at the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. The main city is McAllen. Business is booming.

It definitely depends on the area of the country you are in.
In my area I couldnt find a 15k/year job if I tried to. 20k is generally the minimum here.
Smaller companies with large growth potential are ideal for quick advancement, although you may have to sacrifice some pay (meaning you wont get as much at first). Larger Companies are generally the opposite, good starting pay, but its hard to move up, so you’ll stay at that pay for a long time; barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Large or Small, the key is look for a company that is growing or that you think will grow in the next 5-10 years. And start there.
