I am a teacher and have college loans and other various bills, but I want to start saving money for my future. I have a 403b and a retirement savings with ING as well. I don’t have a savings account. There are so many different ways to save or invest, and I was wondering if there is something good to start with. Stock? CDs? What is something that I could realistically begin doing now to help myself later?

Hello Everyone,
the first announcement I want to make is one of appreciation. I really enjoy the diversity and comments, as well as answers I read and receive. I am a Christan, I point this out because there are more than christians returning replies. Although after reading your responds there is one fact that proves to be true…I still have to make my own decision.
I an a Native of Chicago currently residing in The Greater Saint Louis. As a youth being raised in a broken home I took to the streets. Around 16 I was expelled from Englewood High School for gang related activities therefore going down that route even harder. In and out of juvenile detention I found myself in Menard Correction Center ( a maximum penitentiary) At 17 in 1991 still sleep, I found myself even deeper into the hole I created for myself. I achieved my GED in 1997 and Paroled in 2000. I attended Forest Park Community College for a year. It is 2008 I want to return unlike before I realize there is so much to study.
Doc,
I apologize my Question is what should I study???????
