Are there international business opportunities in Brazil for a recent college grad?

08 Dec

There has been a lot of talk of BRIC, and the rising economic importance of Brazil. I am about to graduate college with a degree in International Business and I am considering moving to Brazil for a year to learn Portuguese so that I can do international business between the United States and Brazil. Do these international business opportunities exist and what are they? And is worth the investment to learn Portuguese?

I would prefer to SETTLE OUT OF COURT with this business owner, what would be a MODEST AMOUNT?

02 Sep

My husband and I took our 1 1/2 year old daughter bowling last night at a local alley. It is a family atmosphere with an ice cream parlor, hamburger shop, and family dance floor.

The lights were dim and during our first session, I began to throw my ball, after letting go, I heard a LOUD BUZZING noise along with my daughter screaming/crying because of the pain she was in. On the FLOOR near the section where you retrieve the balls in your private area there was HIGH Voltage electrical socket that was not covered and it badly shocked my daughter. I was camera ready that night for fun photos, but what I got instead was a picture of that open socket/ short wires along with my son who ended up getting first degree burns. It was electricity that is powered to operate the machines.

Quickly after I alerted management they covered the socket and closed the area off. Immediately afterward I rushed her to the hospital where they did testing. The nurse had give her an IV and this was a traumatic experience for my daughter. I know that suing is rarely appropriate and this is proven to be an honest case. I will contact an attorney Monday to see what they advise……and I am just hoping to settle out of court.

So my question is:
One on One with the owner of the bowling alley, how do you think I should negotiate an out of court claim?

(I will open an “529 College Savings Account” so the money will be left untouched until she is eighteen and then can choose to use the money towards books/etc.)

Some wins, losses for governor, lawmakers of both parties
Divided government meant lots of disagreements in the 2011 legislative session. Republicans control the House, Democrats control the Senate, and a Republican occupies the governor’s office. Here’s a look at how each of the three fared in addressing their priorities. In some cases, an issue was not emphasized as a priority by any of the three.

My 6 year old would like to start a newsletter business. How can I get him started on legalizing a business?

04 Jul

He wants to do a print newsletter for kids his age. How can a business be legalized for a child or does it have to be established under the parent’s name and information. I want to be able to take any money he makes and put into a savings for him and his 529. I want it to be his business.
