What are the important steps to take when buying into an existing investment property as a partner?

02 May

This is an established property managment business renting apartments to graduate college students. I would be buying a 49% position in a LLC. The existing owner would retain the other 51% and would also manage the property for a fee. Our goal would be to sell the property at the end of 3 to 4 years, when the 51% owner is ready to retire and when my son is finished with his graduate program at the same school.

Are there any investment plans I can do that will not allow me to take my money out for 20 years?

09 Mar

I don’t want to have the option to take the money out, just to switch the money around in to different funds. Basically something like how some investment plans take 10% if you withdraw early. I would like it to take 100% if I withdraw early. I would imagine there’s a higher rate of return on something like this too. I don’t want the option to take this money until my gets out of college. Any info would be great. Thanks

Should I take my investments out to help pay for college?

04 Feb

I have about $1000 in stocks and $1500 in a roth ira mutual fund. I know it is not much but should I take it out to help pay for college because I am probably going to be $40,000 in debt or should I just leave it.

Where can an Investment club take a field trip to on the West Coast?

01 Jan

I am president of an investment club in California. I want to take a field trip with the members but since there is no longer a pacific stock exchange, where could we travel to? I want it to be educational and interesting to college students. (17-24 years old)
Haha that would work if we would be able to ask him about what he did. But I’m willing to bet he wouldn’t talk to us. :)

What type of math should I take for Investment Banking?

30 Dec

Hi
I’m an undergrad and have recently decided that I want to go into investment banking. I have been reading a lot about i-banking, and noticed that it requires a lot of math. What kind of math should I take in college(calculus? Algebra? statistics? etc)? If possible, can anyone give me a cocktail of math subcategories to take that could make me a very skilled I-banker, at least in the mathematical aspect of it?

Thank you

What skills does it take to become a investment banker?

02 Nov

Does it involve math (I’m sure it does) and if so what kind?
Is it difficult to get your MBA?
What were the years of college like when getting you MBA?
Is math used in the everyday investing (hard math)
Is it hard to become an investment banker once you get your MBA?
And any other comments you have on how I should achieve this. (I’m attending high school)
Banned for Life- I don’t care. If you don’t know anything about investment banking shut up. If it’s Gambling then why isn’t there multimillion dollar companies that tell you how to Gamble your money.
